Marta Carazo Sebastián was born in Madrid in 1973.
After graduating from the Complutense University of Madrid with a degree in Information Studies, over a period of three years she worked for different media outlets, including Europa Press, Agencia EFE and TeleMadrid.
In 1999, she joined the team of the Canal 24 Horas channel, operated by the state-owned public television company TVE, and continued to work there until becoming Head of the Secretariat of Her Majesty The Queen in September 2025.
At TVE, she wrote, presented and edited programmes in the national and economic news departments, leading the latter from 2018 to 2019. For four years, she was the correspondent in Brussels (2020–2024), then returned to Madrid to lead the Telediario 2 evening news (2024–2025).
Over the course of her career, she has covered key domestic and international events from cities such as Madrid, Brussels, Washington, Jerusalem and Moscow. In her executive roles, she has led teams while dedicating time outside work to social and academic collaborations. In 2022, she was awarded the Salvador de Madariaga European Journalism Prize.
She was appointed Head of the Secretariat of Her Majesty The Queen by virtue of Royal Decree 746/2025 of 29 August.
