Web Content Accesibility

The contents of the Royal Household Web Site have been created in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines drawn up by the Web Accessibility Initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium. The guidelines followed here, in their version 1.0 of 24 March 1999, can be consulted at:

In addition, trials have been carried out with screen readers and voice browsers, and highly satisfactory results were achieved.

Accessibility specifications observed in this Web Site

VISUAL CONTENT:

  • The design and page makeup is adapted to a minimum resolution of 800 x 600 px.
  • All the pages on the Web Site use Cascading Style Sheets so that the fonts are correctly sampled. Various trials were carried out, with different browsers and different platforms (Mac/PC). If your browser does not support these style sheets, problem-free browsing is still possible.
  • The images are accompanied by a short description with the ALT attribute.

TAW 1.1

A rectangle whose left quarter has a silver-grey background, superimposed by the image of a traffic light. The remaining space in the rectangle has a dark grey background against which is the text “TAW 1.1”, the letters being in black and the numbers in red, together with a tick mark shown in white.
