Palabras de Su Alteza Real el Príncipe de Asturias en la presentación de la participación de Nueva Zelanda en Sevilla 92

Rotorua, 04.07.1990

I

am very pleased indeed that my visit to your country has given me the opportunity to attend this presentation of New Zealand's participation in Seville's "Expo 92".

We in Spain attach great importance to that event, and intend to do our best to make a success of it. We think that, in view of the number of participants which, to the best of my knowledge, will be the biggest ever in any exhibition, Seville will prove to be a universal meeting point and provide the adequate frame for fostering the coexistence between countries with different systems for the exchange of knowledge and experience between participants, and that it will give an opportunity for the mutual enrichment of nations and men.

I am extremely glad to see the interest which your country shows in the preparation of its participation. The fact that this ceremony is taking place in your Excellency’s presence and in your residence is a token of it. I am most grateful.

I also want to thank the Prime Minister and the Government for their interest, and wish a great success to the pavilion of New Zealand in Seville, where we shall be expecting you with our arms wide open.

Thanks to all of you, present here, and I hope to see you soon in our warm and happy Spain.
